Zebra Technologies Licenses NCR's Two-Sided Thermal Printer IP

Simultaneous Printing on Both Sides of the Paper Reduces Costs and Benefits the Environment

DULUTH, Ga., Nov 29, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Zebra Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: ZBRA) has signed an agreement to license two-sided thermal printer intellectual property (IP) from NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR). This license provides Zebra worldwide access to NCR's portfolio of patented two-sided thermal printer technology.

"Integrating NCR's two-sided thermal printing technology into our existing kiosk product line will enable Zebra to fulfill the growing demand we see for 2-sided printing applications," said Mike Terzich, senior vice president, Zebra Technologies. "Our customers have come to expect innovative print technologies from the company Zebra, and NCR's technology should help our customers realize greater print efficiency and reduced paper consumption."

NCR's 2STTMtwo-sided printing technology improves the efficiency of the printing process by allowing simultaneous printing on both the front and back side of a receipt or other media. By using less paper, it also helps reduce environmental impact while optimizing productivity and lowering costs.
