ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2002--Casual dining leader Applebee's International, Inc. (Nasdaq:APPB) today announced it will upgrade its existing point-of-sale (POS) terminals from NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) by replacing them with the robust, multimedia NCR RealPOS(TM) 7454 in more than 100 locations. The rollout, scheduled for completion this summer, is valued at over $1 million.

An NCR customer for more than ten years, Applebee's is extending the relationship to take advantage of the latest technology, with which it will integrate Applebee's point-of-sale application. The NCR RealPOS 7454, designed to withstand the harsh hospitality environment, offers functionality far beyond traditional touchscreen restaurant systems. When not in use by store personnel, the multimedia workstations can run customer promotions or employee training programs. NCR will also provide Applebee's with installation, project management and staging services.
