Darden Picks NCR for POS; World's Largest Casual Dining Operator to Deploy NCR RealPOS in 1,300 Restaurants

ATLANTA, Jun 21, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) today announced that Darden Restaurants (NYSE:DRI) has selected NCR as its point-of-sale (POS) provider for its Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Smokey Bones branded locations throughout the United States and Canada. Deployment for the more than 1,300 locations will begin in the coming months.

NCR will provide NCR RealPOS(TM) 70 POS terminals as well as printers and cash drawers as part of a technology refresh of Darden's existing PC-based POS systems. NCR was also awarded the maintenance contract.
