DAYTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 2004--Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR), today announced that Belgacom, Belgium's leading telecommunications operator, has invested in a new Teradata(R) Warehouse and a four-year maintenance contract. The new solution is twice as powerful and capable of managing the customer information and network data of both the Belgacom Carrier & Wholesale and Belgacom Wireline divisions.
The new Teradata Warehouse supports strategic Belgacom projects, such as Best Cost Routing and recent initiatives in the field of Web analysis.
The Best Cost Routing application allows Belgacom to swiftly meet changes in supply and demand on the international market for bandwidth. Each hour, the operator analyzes worldwide telephone traffic and uses the reports to validate its decisions on the profitability of its own contracts.
The Teradata Warehouse will also act as an intelligent dashboard for recently launched e-business projects. Belgacom will generate a detailed view of how employees, suppliers and customers make use of its Web sites and use this business intelligence to increase user satisfaction.
