Extreme performance and advanced capabilities of global tech company’s POS technology key to selection

DULUTH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 3, 2013-- NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, today announced that Boston Market Corporation has started deployment of the NCR RealPOS™ 72XRT in all of its over 460 locations. The powerful, scalable and reliable high-performance point-of-sale (POS) technology allows Boston Market long-term reliability, due to its rugged construction and processing power.

RealPOS 72XRT continues NCR's leadership in high-performance POS systems. Built with Intel(R) processors inside and featuring Intel(R) Active Management Technology (Intel(R) AMT), the 72XRT provides more intelligent processing power to drive new applications, remote manageability and enhanced security to deliver value and create a competitive advantage for Boston Market.

“Our previous platform had become outdated and Boston Market was looking for a modern POS platform that was engineered for the restaurant environment, could be easily serviced and would provide enough performance and scalability for many years to come,” said Randy Vose, Senior Director of Store and Enterprise Systems, Boston Market. “The NCR RealPOS 72XRT was the obvious choice for our team, offering high-performance and scalability and a modular design that greatly simplifies troubleshooting if necessary. Additionally, NCR’s whole-unit replacement model was a key factor in our decision because of the burden it removes from our operators.”

The RealPOS series delivers exceptional performance, flexibility and value for demanding restaurant environments. However, if there is a need for maintenance, NCR’s industry-leading whole-unit replacement for serviceability of POS terminals enables fast and easy service and upgrades. Rather than fix the malfunctioning part on-site, the NCR service technician swaps the whole unit, minimizing the time onsite and potentially interrupting store operations.

“Today, restaurants need a high degree of functionality at the point of service, including interfacing to critical store operations and customer-centric applications to allow an exceptional customer experience,” said Kim Eaton, senior vice president and general manger, NCR Hospitality. “NCR’s restaurant technology enables Boston Market to be more agile, while providing them the performance and scalability to protect their investment for the future.”
