and Risk Management Capabilities as Well as Optimize Customer
                        Relationship Management

BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2007--Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR), the global leader in data warehousing and analytic solutions, today announced that Bank of Shanghai (BOS) has selected Teradata to build its enterprise data warehouse (EDW) after a strict evaluation process.

The EDW will provide BOS with a single view of its business for analysis across departments and systems. It will enable the bank to make better and faster decisions, effectively manage risks and optimize its customer relationship management.

BOS has always been an early adopter of information technology. As early as 2004, BOS began to build its core banking system, "T24," which has been operational since May, 2006. As its business grew, BOS needed to develop analytical applications that allow queries and analysis of historical data from various business information systems. This need led the bank to the decision to build an integrated data warehouse platform to ensure high data quality for smooth business operations and development.

As a leader among more than 100 city commercial banks in China, BOS is a fast-growing bank with outstanding financial performance, holding a strategic position in China's banking industry from IT vendors' perspective. Therefore, the tender for the EDW project attracted intense competition by HP/Neoview, Sun/Greenplum, IBM/DB2, and Teradata. After a strict and thorough evaluation process, BOS selected Teradata in consideration of the superior price/performance of its massively parallel processing (MPP) product solutions as well as Teradata's strong expertise and experience in implementing data warehouses for banks.

"Teradata has comprehensive and advanced solutions and technologies. It also has the most successful cases in China's banking industry with great implementation capability and rich experience. We believe, with Teradata's help, we will be able to make better and faster decisions in order to gain competitive advantage," said the BOS project leader.

"We feel honored that BOS has selected the Teradata solution that offers a better price-performance. It fully demonstrates that the bank recognizes the performance of our MPP solutions and has confidence in our professional services and experience. This project is another strategic breakthrough for Teradata in China's banking industry," said Cliff Wu, vice president of Teradata's Greater China area.

"Teradata has to date established good and stable cooperative relationships with the top 12 banks in the mainland China market," Wu commented. "With international support and successful implementation experience in China, we will provide BOS with outstanding and comprehensive solutions as well as customized quality services."

Teradata will help BOS build a centralized data warehouse platform by integrating data from T24, personal banking, international business and credit card systems. An ETL system for extracting, cleaning, loading and transforming data will also be set up to ensure consistent and usable data. The single view of its business provided by the EDW will help BOS to deploy four major applications including anti-money-laundering capabilities, compliance with the 1104 regulations from the China Banking Regulatory Commission, historical data analysis for corporate banking and management analysis reporting.

The first phase of the BOS EDW project is expected to be completed in March 2008. By then, it will be an advanced, flexible and scalable platform that will effectively integrate data from different systems and platforms across the entire bank. It will support and help to improve the bank's information management systems.
